Supported by Dubai Municipality and Etihad ESCO, Dubai Green Hotel Innovation was launched yesterday

Dubai (December 6, 2017), Supported by Dubai Municipality and Etihad ESCO, the 2nd annual Dubai Green Hotel Innovation has been launched successfully yesterday at Marriott Hotel Al Jaddaf. This conference is organized by Advanced Conferences & Meetings.
Holley Chant, Executive Director – Corporate Sustainability at KEO International Consultants chaired the conference.
Ali Jassim the CEO of Etihad ESCO officially inaugurated the event and delivered the opening speech. Also, Ali Jassim delivered a presentation during the conference on retrofitting existing building components to improve savings by 2030.
The opening speech was followed by a presentation from Taqati’s Executive Director, Aref Abou Zahr who detailed the Demand Side Management programme for hotels in line with the Dubai plan 2021.

Dubai to achieve environmental sustainability in the hospitality sector

Dubai has 700 hotels in operation, with 300 hotels in the pipeline to open before 2020. The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has announced the launch of a new initiative to reduce the carbon footprint in Dubai’s hospitality industry as the sector targets greater environmental sustainability.

All-star lineup for The Maritime Standard Ship Finance and Trade Conference

Dubai, UAE, 15th October 2017: Interest is building in the third annual The Maritime Standard Ship Finance and Trade Conference, which takes place on November 8th at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel and Resort. Abu Dhabi is now investing in sustainable lighting

The Maritime Standard Awards extends nomination deadline

As a result of the huge volume of last minute nominations for this year’s The Maritime Standard Awards it has been decided to grant a last, final, one week extension. Nominations now close on August 17th, but there can be no extension beyond that.
16th August 2017, Dubai, UAE: Managing director, Trevor Pereira, says, “We wanted to make doubly sure that everyone who wishes to nominate has the opportunity to do so. 2.3 GW of Egypt’s power will be generated by photovoltaic energy in the next couple of years

Egypt has the objective to increase its share of renewable energy to 22% of the total energy consumption by 2020.
NREA has recently awarded the winning consortiums projects for round one of their Feed In Tariff (FIT) solar programme and are moving ahead with round two of project development.
The PPAS for round two are moving forward with letters of commitment submitted by developers and with a final proposal submission deadline in October 2017.
Solar Projects Egypt is a specialised conference discussing strategy, project design and delivery of solar FIT programme for round 1 and 2.
